Although we may not be the best clinical fit for everyone, we would still like to share our thoughts on selecting the best provider to meet your unique therapeutic needs. As far as we are concerned, reaching out for help is perhaps the hardest part of the healing and personal growth process. So right here and now, just by taking the time to read this, we feel that you are already getting into the solution, whatever your issues may be. We also understand that there are thousands of counselors out there to choose from, along with a seemingly endless number of specialities, approaches, perspectives, and orientations. Therefore, it may take some time to ultimately find the right counselor to work with. As both a providers and consumers of counseling services, when choosing a counselor, we strongly recommend that you carefully consider the following:

  • Experience in the field
  • Education and training
  • Philosophical orientation
  • Specialization
  • Personal background
  • Ability to address, unearth, and validate concerns with empathy
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and practical solutions

Once again, as much as we look forward to helping individuals, couples, and families work through some of their most challenging issues, we humbly recognize that we may not necessarily be the best fit for your particular situation. And if that is the case, we may be able to refer you to another provider who may be better suited for your case.
